We are back from Barcelona

From Spain

Here we are in Barcelona. The last few days were very busy , tiring but really great. We went up the Sagrada Familia, got lost in Parc Guell, tasted the nice chocolate, met Thierry Henry at the FC Barcelona,... Everyone had a good time.

We are on our way!

Vale!
We are now on the plane to Barcelona, Spain for 5 days discovering the capital of Catalunya.
We will be visiting the Sagrada Familia, The Parc Guell, The Barca FC stadium, a chocolate factory and a few art museum. We will also take time to go up and down the Ramblas to do some shopping.

L'alphabet en francais

Here is a video to help you remember the alphabet in French. Thanks to all 7x/fr2 who recorded this before half term.

I am sure most of you use iTunes to download your favorite songs to add to your MP3 players, iPods,...
well you can also use iTunes to find free podcast to learn languages.
ou can even find our podcast by typing Miss Charles' podcast in the search engine of iTunes.
Make sure you listent to our podcast and become a fan... you can also comment on the different episodes.
You can suscribe to Podcasts for free .
there are podcast about everything, languages of course but also science, maths, poetry...
so make sure you use itunes to help you with your school work as well as for entertainment.
You can download itunes for free if you don't use a Mac at home.

We are almost ready for our week in Barcelona. If you want to join us on this trip next year, make sure you get a letter from Miss Charles in January.

Paris 2009

We have a few more places left on the Paris Trip.
The total cost is £285 per pupil and need a deposit of £35 to be able to secure your place.
The trip takes place from 16th March to 20th March.
Talk to your French teacher as soon as possible.

E-Twinning

Since July, I have been busy putting in place our E-twinning project with a French School, College Rosa Parks.
We now have a blog which you can access by clicking on the E-twinning logo.We will be working with year 7 and year 8 pupils in class on Podcasting, Animation and Videos and we will be uploading them on the blog to share with the French school.
This will give you an opportunity to discover another school culture and compare your language skills!
See your French teacher or Miss Charles for more info!

Paris 2009

We have made a booking to take pupils from years 7 to 11 to Paris for 5 days at the end of March 2009.
the total price is £285 and this includes transport, accomodation, visit of the Eiffel tower, a cruise on the river, a day at Disney Land and many other exciting things.
If you are interested, get a letter from Miss Charles in room 17. You need to pay the deposit (£35) before the end of September to be sure to go. Numbers are limited so Hurry!

BASTILLE DAY

Yesterday, it was Bastille Day in France which celebrates the beginning of the French Revolution (1789).
Pupils had a chance in the last few days to watch videos about this event in their French lessons.
We also had flags put up along the MFL corridor. Thanks to 8ANI/fr3 for helping Mrs Lundie.
Teachers and support staff also enjoyed warm croissants at break time, provided by the MFL department.

BOULES CLUB

Every Wednesday we are meeting in the MFL garden to play French Boules (weather permitting). This is open to Year 7 pupils only.

SPAIN 2008

There are a few more places left on the Spain Trip 2008. Please ask for a letter from Miss Charles (rm 17).
We are going for 5 days and will be staying near Barcelona.

In November 2008 we will be going to Barcelona, Spain for 5 days. We will be travelling by plane to make the most of the week. We will visit the city, taste some food, have some language lessons and discover markets, beaches...

News

Hello everyone,
We have some new podcasts for you to listen to and soon you will be able to watch our new animation movies in French.
On Tuesday a group of 20 students are off to France with Miss Rakoto. They will be practising their French and take part in sport activities during 4 days and we are looking forward to seeing the photos.
After the holidays we should be able to start playing French boules outside in the 'MFL garden'. This will be open to year 7 and 8 students, If you want to take part, see Miss Charles for more info.
